If you slice a raw onion in half and rub the exposed flesh on your windshield the night before a big freeze, you will wake up to find your car free of ice. If you are worried about shedding tears, you can opt instead to cover your windshields with rubber bath mats before you go to sleep at night. Both of these tricks will put your ice scraper out of service all winter.
